The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), University of Agriculture Makurdi has called on the staff, students, University host community and the general public to make it a point to patronize the goods and services created by the Centre.
Speaking in an interview with UAM News, the Acting Director of the Centre, Engr. Dr. Joseph Terlumun Utser stated that, the Centre has a mandate to improve the capacity of youths to develop positive, independent and innovative thought process and overall entrepreneurial mindset. Also to develop vocational skills as a way of stimulating future graduates towards venture creation and to take the youths out of total dependence on government for employment but become business creators and managers of their own business.

Engr. Dr. Utsev added that, in view of its mandate, the Centre has since inception embarked on the production of goods and services such as building materials, toiletries, animal breeding, textile products, consultancy, vocational training, catering services among others. He maintained that the centre is strategically placed and its activities are geared towards benefiting the University, its host community and the general public.
The Director however lamented lack of equipment, laboratories and finance which according to him have hindered the spreading of the centre’s tentacles beyond its immediate environment. He then called on the University administration to see towards addressing the challenges currently faced by the centre so as to enable it attain the set objectives.
